Session Leader Biographies

Miriam Little

Ken and Miriam have served overseas in three countries, Thailand, Haiti and Sri Lanka for a total of 12 years. In each location children and family ministries ranked high on their agenda.

In Toronto, Miriam is currently Director of Children’s Ministries at Yorkminster Park Baptist Church. She was the Children’s Pastor at Spring Garden Baptist for 11 years from 1994 to 2005 and during much of that time was the president of Canadian Children’s Ministry Network (now Children’s Ministry Leadership Network) in the GTA. She also served as a member of the Children’s Ministry Forum with EFC for 2 years.

Ken’s work as the Executive Director of Toronto City Mission for 10 years involved ministry to marginalized children, youth and families in the city. Ken and Miriam have raised four children and have 4 grandchildren.

Ken and Miriam will lead a dialogue on some practical ways we can help engage our children in caring for others both here and abroad. They will explore together how to assist children to become more other focused.
