Paul Abell

Paul Abell is the Stewardship Coordinator with A Rocha Canada – Christians in Conservation in the GTA. He has managed youth- and community-based conservation projects with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Evergreen (the environmental charity). With his local Christian communities he has initiated conservation projects and discussions, including the creation of a community garden and a Creation Care Working Group. With A Rocha he is building on this experience and engaging the larger community, both inside and outside of the Church to show God's love for Creation in the GTA. With Christian communities Paul is helping them develop a practical understanding to an ethos of caring for Creation, such as through the introduction of A Rocha's EcoCongregations program. And with conservation organizations such as the Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust and the City of Toronto's Parks, Forestry and Recreation Division, Paul is developing community-based partnerships to assist with the common desire to be good stewards of our shared environment--and home. Paul began his work with A Rocha in the fall of 2008. To make this possible and to ensure sustainable growth for A Rocha in the GTA, Paul has been raising his support (prayer, financial, volunteer) and is working with the A Rocha GTA Action Group, which consists of volunteers that are helping to make the vision for A Rocha Canada – Christians in Conservation an effective part of Christ's presence in GTA. Paul lives with his wife, Jenny, daughter, Victoria and dog, Leo in friendly East York, where they enjoy gardening, canoeing and exploring the nearby ravine.
